Umesh K. Mishra is a professor in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In 2023, he was appointed dean of the UC Santa Barbara College of Engineering.

Mishra's areas of research include: development of GaN electronics, GaN opto-electronics, GaN materials, oxide-based electronics, non-stoichiometric semiconductors, vacuum microelectronics, and Inp & GaAs based electronics.
