President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and head of the establishment team of the Research Development and Innovation Authority.
He previously held various roles in upper government. Where he was the Assistant Minister of Communications and Information Technology, the Deputy Minister of Planning and Development, as well as the Senior Advisor on various Vision 2030 programs, leading and supporting in establishing new government entities and transforming existing ones. He is also chairing and is a member of several national and international boards and councils, such as the Vice Chair of the Governing Board for the Global Research Council (GRC).
In recognition of his scientific excellence, he has received several awards such as the King Abdulaziz Order of Merit Excellence Medal of the First Class, the King's Prize for Inventors, the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada scholarship.
